Privacy Policy

• Contact details: your name, mobile number and email address.
• Enquiry details: the car you're asking about, your message, whether you're interested in finance, and details of any car you want to trade in.
• Test drive bookings: your preferred date and time and any notes you add.
• Holding deposits: your name, mobile and email, the car you're holding and the payment status. Card payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
• If you buy, trade in or finance a car with us: the further details needed for the contract of sale, registration transfer and any finance application, such as your address, date of birth and driver licence details.
• Technical information: your IP address, browser and device, the pages you view and the link or ad you arrived from. Cookies are covered in section 7.

We don't ask for sensitive information (such as health information) through this website. If you don't give us your contact details, we can't respond to your enquiry.

• To answer your enquiry and contact you about it by phone, SMS and email.
• To book test drives, take holding deposits and sell, buy or trade in cars.
• To arrange finance, but only where you ask us to.
• To improve our website and understand which advertising works.
• To meet our legal obligations, including motor car trader and tax records.

We may share your personal information with:

• Our other brands (EV Depot, Sell Direct and EVFinder), where that helps with your enquiry.
• AutoPlay, the dealership management system our sales team uses to manage enquiries, test drives and deposits.
• Stripe, which processes holding deposit payments.
• Our finance partner, Angle Finance, only where you've asked us to help arrange finance.
• Government agencies such as VicRoads, where needed to transfer a registration or as the law requires.
• Service providers that run our systems for us: Vercel (website hosting), Supabase (database), Resend (email delivery), Google (analytics and advertising) and Meta (advertising).
• Anyone you authorise, or where the law requires or permits it.

We don't sell your personal information.

The “sell your car” quote form on this website is run by Sell Direct, which Alfie Automotive Pty Ltd also operates. What you enter there goes to the Sell Direct buying team (and to us) and is handled under the Sell Direct Privacy Policy. It follows the cookie choices you make on this site.

Some of our providers store or process information outside Australia: AutoPlay in New Zealand, and Stripe, Vercel, Supabase, Resend, Google and Meta in the United States and other countries. We take reasonable steps to make sure they handle your information consistently with the APPs.

If you make an enquiry, we may contact you about it and about cars that suit what you asked for. You can opt out of marketing at any time: use the unsubscribe link in any email, reply STOP to any SMS, or use our Your Privacy Choices page. We action opt-outs within 5 business days. Opting out of marketing doesn't stop us contacting you about a purchase, deposit or booking you've made.

We use strictly necessary cookies to run the site and remember your cookie choices. With your consent we also use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, and the Meta Pixel and Google's advertising tools to measure our ads and show you relevant ones on Facebook, Instagram and Google. Until you accept, these tools set no cookies and send no identifying data. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as an opt-out of marketing cookies.

You can change your cookie choices at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer, or opt out of everything optional in one step on our Your Privacy Choices page. Turning a category off deletes the cookies it set. To control ads you see on other sites, use Meta's ad preferences and Google My Ad Center.

Your information is securely maintained within our business systems, with access limited to staff who need it and encryption in transit. We keep it for as long as we need it to meet our operational, legal and compliance obligations (for example, motor car trader and tax records). Once it is no longer required, we securely delete or de-identify it.

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we're not required to keep it. Email us or use the privacy request link. We'll respond within 30 days.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, contact us first and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated.
